Defining your skin tone type

To find the frame color that will perfectly match your skin tone, you first need to understand it. Start by determining your skin color and then understanding your skin undertones. These two steps will help you identify your complexion more accurately.

Step 1: What is your skin color?

Skin tones can be grouped into 3 main categories:

Fair skin
Medium skin
Dark skin

You can simply use your favorite mirror and try to determine which category your skin tone belongs to.

Step 2: Skin undertone test

Your skin undertone is an essential factor because it has a real impact on your future glasses choice.

To determine it, we suggest a quick and well-known test: the vein test. (And don’t worry, no blood is involved in this experiment!)

The principle is simple: stand under natural light and look at the veins on your wrist (this is where they are usually the most visible and easiest to see).

- If their color looks more greenish, then your skin undertone is warm.

- If your veins appear more bluish or purple, your skin undertone is cool.

- If you can’t really tell the difference between the two, don’t worry, it’s not a vision problem! You simply have a neutral undertone.

Want to be sure of your result? Try wearing silver and gold jewelry. If silver suits you better, you probably have a cool undertone. Gold jewelry will enhance warm undertones. If both look good on you, your undertone is neutral!
